Medium phosphorous nickel (5-7%):
This is, among all, the most used coating process. Main characteristics are:
- Uniformity.
- Appearance: Bright.
- Hardness:
- Just plated: 550-650 Hv.
- After hardening treatment: 950-1000 Hv.
- Corrosion resistance level: Medium.
- Salt fog chamber test (depending on material and coat thickness) < 100 hours.
- Maximum recommended thickness: 100-125 microns.
- Wear resistance: Very good.
- Very little magnetic.
- Sectors: The same as for low phosphorous nickel.
