Partial protection:
Taking advantage of the uniformity of electroless nickel plating, it is frequently used as filler material in case of wrong dimensions. To this end, areas not requiring coating are masked, nickel being deposited only on the areas with wrong dimensions. In this way scrapping costly parts is prevented.
Shot blasting:
With the procurement of an automatic shot blasting machine, A.S.BERRITZEN, S.L. intends to broaden the range of processes offered to its customers. This process can be offered as a complement to electroless nickel plating (to give the parts a satin finish) and as final finish.
Heat treatment:
After the different electroless nickel plating processes, different heat treatments at different temperatures can be applied in the furnace to change certain deposit characteristics.
Possible heat treatments are:
- Hardening heat treatment: To increase deposit hardness.
- Heat treatment to obtain good adherence: To improve deposit adherence specially for materials such as aluminium and stainless steel.
- Dehydrogenation treatment: It is applied to carbon steels that are subject to certain mechanical loads. Removing the occlusion of hydrogen generated during substrate pre-treatment, the deposit elasticity as well as its adherence is improved.
- Concentrating process: This treatment, specific to Nickel Teflon, concentrates the Teflon on the deposit surface, improving considerably its non skid properties.
